Children are the main characters of their own lives. As such, they deserve to read books in which the main characters look like them.Children of other ethnicities would also benefit from having books with a diverse range of characters that represent the beautiful diversity of the world in which we live.

Our focus is on providing children with a range of fun and engaging books with characters of colour to promote self-love, self- discovery and a love for reading.According to 2019 children's publishing statistics, characters of African descent are portrayed in less than 10% of children's books and characters of Asian descent are portrayed in less than 7% of children's books. While children can learn important values from book characters of any background, it builds children's confidence and self-esteem to see and read literature featuring characters that look like them.
